Unique and comfortable self-catering 2-bedroom traditional styled villa, with easy access and quiet seclusion for Honeymoon couples, small families or groups, golfers, elderly or disabled people, can be rented for up to 6 persons. High stone walls create very private romantic hideaway within pretty planted garden and patio area, with pool, hot tub and BBQ; just 5km from the coast and less than 1km from amenities, shops, etc. Mezzanine provides additional bed-space with balcony overlooking lounge area.

Casa Julia is a no-smoking villa with modern amenities and many subtle features to make villa practical and comfortable to suit a wide range of guest needs. Located in Pereiras, just outside of Almancil in Loulé area of Central Algarve, about ten minutes drive from Vilamoura and 15 minutes from Faro Airport.

Adaptations
Renovated in 2004 to create purpose-designed accommodation for wheelchair users, with ramp from front of the house leading to the garden and villa entrance for easy access. All rooms are on ground level with door and corridor widths wide enough to accommodate most wheelchair users. Clearance between doors and frames at least 800mm. Spacious shower-room with: wheel-in shower area with grab bars and fold-down seat; corner toilet with hand-basin, wall-mounted and drop-down rails; and thermostatic mixer controls to washbasins and shower.

Summary of main adaptations and accessibility features, much of which has been achieved sympathetically to retain local charm: -
Entry ramp: Approx. 1:12 slope for 6.5 metres from roadside parking / drop-off, up to large level landing area in front of entrance gate.
Doors: All 800mm clear opening width, except door to garage 710mm.
Bathroom: Toilet and shower seats approx. 480 mm height. Grab rails in toilet and shower area. Padded shower-seat with armrests.
Bedrooms: Beds approx. 500mm - 600mm height to top of mattress. Bedrooms can provide 1200mm - 1400mm clearance on at least one side, and approx. 650mm and 750mm clearance past bottom of double bed and single beds respectively.
Pool with raised side walls approx. 400mm - 500mm height (seat height) above surrounding patio areas, for sitting/lounging or ease of transfer from wheelchairs: creates safety barrier around the pool for small children or people with difficulty walking. Large steps also provide for gradual entry and/or assistance from one corner of pool. No handrails.

Private pool (approx 5.5m x 3.5m) warmed by solar energy May to September. Solar Pool Cover helps to provide additional safety barrier to children as well as retaining heat in the pool.

Covered terrace area with patio table + six chairs. Regionally styled built-in barbecue for outdoor dining. Sunbeds + umbrellas for relaxing on level or gently sloping patio areas. Additional shade from palm tree and covered terraces.

Villa Heating included in rental price in low season/winter period: underfloor heating in kitchen and ground floor bedroom areas; separate controls for shower-room; attractive log-burning stove in regionally-styled alcove in lounge (logs provided October to April).

Towels (not pool / beach towels) and linen included. Weekly maid service to clean villa included with one change of bedding and two changes of towels per week.

Also provided for client's own (indoor only) use: Hair dryer with detachable diffuser, steam iron + ironing board, portable heated clothes/towel airer, portable fans, washing machine in garage + liquid detergent provided for personal clothes washing. Satellite TV, surround sound DVD/CD system + separate iPod stereo provided in lounge. Fully fitted kitchen with dining table + six chairs.

Local House Manager can be contacted for any advice or emergency assistance needs. Car rentals can be arranged, including automatics and some with hand-controls for disabled drivers. Mobility aids, medical aids, cots, equipment or personal assistance can be arranged. We can tailor Spa Packages, or your own special package, to suit your needs. Contact owner for more details. Complementary 'meet and greet' escort provided from Faro Airport to the villa.
