A beautiful, spacious bungalow in the village of Waverton, four miles from the historic city of Chester and a 30-45 minute drive from The Wirral, Manchester, Liverpool, Shropshire and North Wales.   Chester is a hugely popular all-season tourist venue, with its historic buildings, superb shopping, Races at the Roodee and trips on the River Dee.   Waverton has a supermarket, post office, cafe and takeaway, as well as the Shropshire Union Canal, with many waterbirds eager for you to feed them.

The bungalow has a large lounge with TV, DVD books and games;  a dining kitchen which leads into the rear conservatory overlooking the garden.   A full cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier are provided.   Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms plus double bedsettee in the living room (one double, one twin, one single) as well as a comfy double bed settee in the lounge.   The  single and one double bedroom are wheelchair friendly.   The bathroom has a roll-in shower, bath, basin and toilet.   Second cloakroom.

A cot and highchair are available on request, as is a shower wheelchair and a perching stool.   The beautiful garden gives the bungalow its name - Catkin Dell and has seating and a table for outdoor picnics and dining.

The bungalow was previously occupied by a wheelchair user, with wheelchair-friendly floor coverings, level/ramped access to the house and garden, low switches, wide doorways and roll-in shower.

Catkin Dell is ideal for an inter-generational holiday, with grandparents, parents and children, without breaking the bank.   Gail and Kevin provide a truly extensive range of books, toys, games and jigsaws.   Children are offered a choice of duvet covers, so they feel "at home" from the moment they arrive.   The four seating areas - living room, dining kitchen, conservatory and garden - give family members the opportunity to spend time together, but also to have time and space to themselves.

Care Package available from Home Instead, tel 01244 851744.

Portable hoist can be booked from Ableworld, tel 01270 626971.

The bungalow is owned by Gail and Kevin Mayhew, who live in Christleton, just over a mile away.   Kevin is retired and Gail is a former special school teacher who now teaches music and French privately.   If you would like to include piano or French lessons as part of your holiday, please discuss this with Gail.
