You enter the house upstairs through the wide front door, which is just a couple of meters from car parking. Coming into the large kitchen you find an electric rise and fall worktop with sink and hob, raised fridge, side opening oven at eye level and all pull out storage. Moving through the open plan room into the livingroom and onto the main bedroom with roll in/roll out wet room with a disabled toilet. The house is located just a few minutes away from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana where you can find many restaurants and shops. Construction of the house used many very old recycled material, such as old stone lintels, floor boards that are three hundred years old and ancient hand made terracotta roof tiles. But it also has the highest environmental qualities, the windows are hand made local sweet chestnut with high efficiency argon filled double glazed units. The windows were specially made for the house with reduced height handles so they could be reached from a wheelchair. The roof has two large solar panels, with a sophisticated pluming system that allows the house to be heated from both a wood stove or a gas boiler, or a mix of the two.
